Luidia is now offering monthly webinars to equip you with tips and tools to use your eBeam more effectively in the classroom. Join us for the July webinar on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 1:00-2:00 PM PDT. The title for this month’s webinar is eBeam Education 101.

Attendees will:

-Be introduced to eBeam’s dynamic Interact Tool Palette and Scrapbook software and become familiar with their many features

-Learn how to bring in images and content from a variety of sources

-See interesting ways to manipulate and utilize content in lesson preparation and delivery

Under Warranty?

By now most of you have had a chance to pull out your eBeam System after the Holiday break and scrapbook away. Now would be a good time for you, technology coordinators, to check-in with your teachers and see if they need any additional accessories or service on any damaged hardware. What kind of warranty does eBeam offer? Luidia offers a two-year manufacturer warranty on the eBeam receiver, stylus and whiteboard pens.

How do you know if your damaged stylus is under warranty? Locate the serial number on the eBeam receiver that coordinates with the stylus in question (there is no serial number on the actual pen) and email that number to your local eBeam representative. They can check to see if your eBeam part is still under warranty and give further instructions on repairing your system. We even take care of the shipping for you, so there is no cost on your end to get a replacement part. Now that’s service.

Is Your Cable in the Way?

Every classroom is set up differently. You may be using a laptop or a desktop computer. Your projector may be ceiling mounted or on a rolling cart. And that 15′ USB cable that came with your eBeam might not be long enough, especially if your desktop computer is in the back of the room. Double the length of your USB cable to 31′ by using our 16′ 2.0 USB Extension Cable for only $24.95. You can daisy chain several of these extension cables together for a total of 80′ without signal degradation. This 16′ extension cable features a signal repeater at one end to ensure your eBeam still functions properly.

If you take your eBeam System on the go, you will want to stock up on this extension cable for a backup. That way you are always sure your USB cable will stay out of your way as you make your presentation with your eBeam Portable System. Run the extension cable around the edge of the room so that the presenter’s space at the front of the room stays clear and open. Plug the mini-USB end of your USB cable into the eBeam receiver as usual. Plug the USB connection into the USB extension cable and connect the extension cable to your computer. This is an affordable alternative to the eBeam Bluetooth System, which has no cables connected from the eBeam to the computer.
